Yesterday i went to Game On at ACMI in Federation Square. As it was Anzac day it opened at 1pm instead of 10am and closed at 6pm. I bought my ticket ($10 for concession, $15 for adult) at 1pm got my free copy of Sim City (original from 1986) and went in. As soon as i walked in a was like WOW this is awesome!. The advert outside said 125+ playable games, and there were. So many consoles with so many games. I walked around a bit looked at what games they had, and i slowly lost my enthusiasm.
There were many retro games from SNES, NES, Megadrive, Dreamcast, Sega, PC, PS1, PS2 and XBOX. All the classic games were there. There were many different sections including arcade games, family games, multiplayer games, simulation games and kids games. Theyre were a few XBOX 360 games including Table Tennis (best game ever :p) PES08, Forza Motorsport 2 and others. There were 2 wii’s playable which had Mario and Sonic at the Olympics and Wii Sports and were very popular. I was disappointed as there was only one Playstation 3 and the game was Motorstorm, i was looking forward to, and expecting Grand Turismo 5 Prologue and was highly disapointed. But other than that it was very cool.
There was a “cube” with 4 XBOX 360’s all with Halo 3 connected together. Super Smash Brothers multiplayer, Bomberman multiplayer and Guitar Hero 3. Another disappoinment was there were alot of people in the exhibition and sometimes it was hard to play a game, some people were very selfish and “hogged” some games, but nothing can be done about that.
Overall, Game On is very good value for money. At $10 for concession and $15 for adults, game on is a great way to spend a whole afternoon playing some great games from your childhood. I spent 4 hours there and wasnt complaining (except about my legs as you have to stand up at every game). I highly recommend Game On to anyone with kids or just to any gaming enthusiast.
Well its been a long week. Been studying for my English SAC all week and im really struggling. I keep on getting distracted and sidetracked with other things, and then when i start doing it i dont know what to do. Well its tomorrow, doing my plan right now, hopefully will do well. Had a Methods test today, trigonometry. Would like to think i did well, but i know i stuffed up at least 2 questions. And finally tomorrow IT test and heaps of IT questions due, guess how many i have done? 0. Think im just gonna wing it. Well wish me luck!
